Next Step Resources

man with medicineEvery significant contribution to our world’s history has started somewhere. You may be taking your first step right now, by making the decision to learn more. Listed below, you’ll find books that will help you understand the scope of the AIDS pandemic around the world. You’ll also find details about the Hope & Action curriculum that can be used in a small group setting to educate and inspire people in your congregation.

These materials and others can serve as a great starting point if your church is beginning to investigate this crisis. As you read and study, allow God’s Spirit to guide you as to how He has positioned your church to make a difference. Your best contribution will be unique to your church, using the one-of-a-kind resources—including the unique vision, gifts, and hearts of your people—available to you.

It is our hope these resources will serve as a catalyst for your process of discovery and activation.

Acting on AIDS: Acting on AIDS (AOA) is a program started by Christian college students to create awareness and activism of the global AIDS pandemic at colleges across the nation. With the support of World Vision, Christian college students have formed a network of Acting on AIDS chapters which seek to change hearts on campuses, create awareness in communities, and advocate for those impacted by the global AIDS pandemic. For further information, visit their website at www.actingonaids.org.

AIDS Experience: World Vision has created a unique 3,000-square-foot interactive village that allows participants to walk in the footsteps of an African child affected by AIDS. Called "The World Vision AIDS Experience", this transformational exhibit is currently touring key conferences and venues across the country.
