Pre-Qualify
Wonder if your church qualifies for the award? Not sure if you should take the time to complete the full application? There are a few simple things that the selection committee looks for as a baseline for award winners. Those items are articulated below.
The award is given to local churches only.
The Courageous Leadership Award is meant to be given to local churches, so individuals or other para-church organizations need not apply. Our goal is to inspire local churches around the world to engage in strategic activity that is addressing the AIDS pandemic, so the award goes to local churches.
Your AIDS program needs to have been operating for at least two years.
One of the key factors considered by the selection committee is the effectiveness of your church's AIDS work. Without at least a two-year track record, effectiveness is difficult to measure.
If you meet those qualifications, your application will be thoroughly and thoughtfully considered and we would encourage you to apply. Churches that have been awarded an Honorable Mention or Special Recognition are still eligible to re-apply.
